Niniola was born into the family of Apata on the 15th day of December 1986, in Lagos State, Nigeria. Emerging as the first daughter of the family, Niniola has two younger siblings, one of which is Teniola Apata, also a Nigerian music artiste and popularly known as Teni, and the other being Tejumola Apata. Niniola spent her childhood in Lagos where she had grown up and completed both her primary and secondary education. Niniola went to the same secondary school as her younger sister Teni, Apata Memorial High School. The school was said to have been built by their family in memory of their fore-father, Apata.
