Adedamola Adefolahan popularly known as Fireboy DML is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was born on the 5th of February 1996. He is currently signed to YBNL Nation, an indispensable and independent record label; it was founded by Nigerian rapper Olamide. Fireboy’s debut studio album Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps was released in late 2019. He won Listener’s Choice and was nominated for Song of the Year category for his song “Jealous” at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival.
The album comprises 13 tracks with no features no guest artist; it was well received and got over 6 million streams on Spotify within three days after its release. It received a lot of positive reviews from fans and bloggers but was criticized for being labeled an “Afro-Life” record instead of an R&B album. The album was supported by some of his previously released singles like “Jealous”, “What If I Say” and “King”. On the 1st of August 2019, Fireboy DML released the single “King”; in the song, he declares his worth to his love interest. The official music video for “King” was directed by TG Omori; it contains visuals of Fireboy and his love figure in the middle of a rose petal embellished Rolls Royce, as well as images of fireboy performing at a fashion show where models walk on a runway.
