David Adedeji Adeleke also known as Davido is a popular American-born Nigerian singer, a songwriter and a music producer. He was born on November 21, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A . His parents are Chief Deji and the late Vero Adeleke, a business tycoon and a university professor. Davido attended the British International School in Lagos, Nigeria.

In the United States, he attended Oakwood University, majoring in business administration. He earned a degree in music from Babcock University in 2015. In 2011 he released a hit single ”Dami Duro”.  His discography include the album Omo Baba Olowo (2012) and the EP Son of Mercy (2016). Davido is a co-founder of HKN Music. He has produced music for artists  like Tiwa Savage, Skales, Sauce Kid and the host of others.

Davido’s CAREER

At Oakwood University, Davido being a teen at that time, showed his interest in music. He would make beats and research music production during his leisure time and was a member of KB International. He dropped out of Oakwood University in 2011 and moved back to Lagos where his debut single ”Back When” featuring Naeto C was released later that year. Dami Dura which was produced by Shizzie was his second single. The song was a hit and it won the Nigerian Entertainment  Award for the hottest single that year. The song also won the award of the best video at the Nigerian Music Video Awards (NMVA). He later released a remix of Dami Duro in 2012 where he featured Akon.

With his rapid growth in music, Davido and his brother Adewale formed the record label HKN Music which comprised of B.Red, DeeKay and Sina Ranbo. In 2012, Davido released his debut studio album ”Omo Baba Olowo” which featured guest appearances from the likes of Sina Rambo and Ice Prince. At the 2013 Headies Awards, the album won Best R&B/Pop Album. His second album in 2015 titled ‘The Baddest’ went unreleased, the track listed; Gobe, Skelewu, Aye, and Fans Mi featuring an American rapper Meek Mill. He later released his 5-track EP, ‘Son of Mercy’ on October 2016. He featured Simi on the track ”Maga To Mugu”. Davido collaborated with Rae Sremmurd and Young Thug on the song ”Pere”. His other numerous songs include include ”Assurance”, Flora My Flawa”,  ”Nwa Baby”, ”Fine Girl”, Wale feat. Davido & Olamide. ”Blow My Mind” featuring Chrisbrown. He has also featured other numerous international star.
