Olawale Ashimi was born on the 9th of May 1986 in Okokomaiko, Lagos, Nigeria. His father was a carpenter from the Awori descent, and his mother an Egun petty trader. Brymo had his religious school at an Islamic school where he learnt how to recite the whole of the holy Qu’ran.His elementary school was at Aganju Aka Primary School, where he later moved to Japual Primary School. He then moved to Ajangbadi High School, Ajangbadi, Lagos where he graduated in 2003. He proceeded to Lagos State University, Ojo to read Zoology, but drop in his second year in quest for his musical career.

Brymo started nurturing his musical aspiration at a very tender age, when he heard his mother sang fuji songs. In his secondary school in the year 1999 he had his first musical album. Brymo had a group together with his friends called The Aliens in 2002. In 2005, the group was no more due to series of crises, he then went to being a solo singer. In 2010, Brymo also came to limelight after featuring in Oleku, a hit single on Ice Prince’s debut studio album Everybody Loves Ice Prince.

In 2010, Brymo signed a deal with the Chocolate City record name , after he met with M.I Abaga through Denrele Edun. Nonetheless, the contract elapsed in 2013 due to other numerous of cases. Chocolate City fired interval order against Brymo. Brymo after producing M, D and S album, later signed a deal with Spinlet for an album dispersion in 2014. This deal was anyway broken after Spinlet got some answers concerning the case. At that point, in March 2014, the directive was lifted and the album was disseminated. After the agreement with chocolate city was broken, Brymo started to do his music freely and has since been overseen by Bail Music Company. In 2014, he marked a worldwide arrangement with BMG, yet the arrangement went on for only a year.
