Adekunle Kosoko popularly known as Adekunle Gold is a Nigerian  citizen. He is a musician, songwriter and graphic designer. He started his music career very early with his  ‘Sade’ which he released in 2004, a cover of One Direction’s Story. He later released a debut single titled ‘Orente’ which gave him an edge over the upcoming stars of that time. Being a graphics designer, Adekunle Gold designed for himself, other A-list artistes and for some brands. He also designed the  YBNL logo, the label he later signed.

Adekunle Gold Early Life

Adekunle Gold is man of the 20th century, he was born on the 28 day of January, 1987. He is the first child and only son of the family. He comes from a Royal family in Lagos, he was born and raised in Ifako-Agege and Ikotun, Lagos State. Adekunle’s parents happen to be teachers. He had his primary and secondary education at public schools. He then enrolled in to the Lagos State Polytechnic where he came out with a degree in Arts and Industrial Design. His relation is the popular  veteran actor, Prince Jide Kosoko. He is currently married to Simisola Ogunleye, a marriage which took place in January 2019. He prefers to hang out with his friend at the beach, which regards as his most favorite place in the world.

Adekunle Gold Musical Career

As a  teen, Adekunle Gold was a member  of the church choir for 11 years which according to him stated developing his aspirations of becoming a music star. He listened to legendary musicians like Sunny Ade, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey. He later became of a member of a band where he wrote his first song in 2007. He featured musicians like Skales and GT da Guitarman together with his other band members before they later disbanded.

After the disband, he went solitude and was writing songs until December 2014 when he dropped a single tittled Sade, a cover of One Direction’s Story of My Life. The song had alot of vibes and was nominated in the 2015 at the Headies Awards. H later released another hit songs like; Orente, Pick Up, and other numerous songs. His style of songs are pop, modrn/urban highlife and indie genre.

Adekunle got his first connection with Olamide when he designed the YBNL logo and other works. When he later released ‘Sade’, Olamide liked the song and offer him a deal in the label. This became his stepping stone,he released his debut album on the 5th of March, 2015, which he titled Gold.

When his deal with YBNL expired, Adekunle created his own label which he called ‘The 79th Element. The name which he explained as to the number of gold contained in chemistry. He also owned the Afro Urban and runs it with other of his members.

On the 18th if July Adekunle Gold released his debut studio album, It was released under the YBNL Nation and produced by Pheelz, B Banks, Sleekamo, Oscar, Masterkraft and Seyikeyz. The album ranked number 7 on the Billboard World Album Chart for the week. The album was also endorsed by Adele.

He proceeded in the music industry to release his sophomore studio album in 2018 titled About 30. An album which contained 14-tracks. He also featured several artistes. The album for him was a reflection of heart, fears, faith and pleasure.
